A lot to be thankful for

This has been a hell of a year for us both.

I found myself daydreaming about the past year the other day…what a beautiful thing that was. Ask me any year prior to this one what daydreaming is and I’d probably tell you something along the lines of escaping the world I’m currently in to a beautiful place that seems so far, far away.

One 100 miler, a 24-hour endurance run at World’s Toughest Mudder, Two 50Ks, Two full marathons, One half marathon, Four Tough Mudders (Six for PJ), One 10K and One 5K. Is there anything more of a dream that getting to do these wonderful races in places like Colorado, Seattle and so on in picturesque locations? ALL while maintaining great health throughout?

The only “injuries” I’ve had have been minor – small groin pull, tight IT bands, nothing that couldn’t be fixed in a short period of time. A trip to the chiropractor yesterday showed that we’re in really good shape and we only need to do minor adjustments to be at full health.

As Thanksgiving slowly creeps up this week and into my stomach I feel I have a lot to be thankful for and this year it’s all about the experiences. I’ve grown tremendously throughout the last year because of them and I’ll forever be grateful for that no matter how much of a struggle and fight it’s been to adapt.

Best part of it all? I have a training partner for it all..on and off the course.
